Week 4
1)When I hear the word ” monster” I picture something from a children’s book, like an imaginary creature. If I had to draw a monster it would be huge, and covered in orange fur, he would have two blue eyes, and pink eyebrows. I think that our ideas of monsters come from stories or movies. I think the word monster can defiantly have more than one meaning. He could truly be a scary monster like the one who hides in your closet or under your bed. There is also the other kind, the ones who are nice and friendly, like the ones in the movie Monsters Inc.
2)Using the word epic hero to define Beowulf is easy. Beowulf went to kill the monster from the swamp,he saved tons of peoples lives. Even when Beowulf was a young boy he would challenge his friend to races and to prove strength. When he killed the swamp monster many of people viewed him as an epic hero.
3)The project we are doing for Beowulf is a comic strip, but it will be easier portrayed this way then in the book. We were given the part when the monster came form his swamp to kill the people and Beowulf went to stop him. I love the part we were given it easy to understand and was easy to come up with ideas. Doing it this way is much easier to follow, and I like our illustrations they make it fun.
Week 2
1)My favorite superhero is Superman, I like him because he came to earth not knowing anything or anyone. He disguises himself as any normal human being but when the Metropolis needs him he is there no matter what, he even sets his happiness aside so the world can be safe. To be a hero I think you have to be willing to do whatever it takes to be that hero that everyone is counting on.
2)I think Beowulf is hard to follow, I think it is still a good story though.Yes it’s pretty difficult to understand, I get lost but I keep reading and soon enough it will all make sense. With the difficult language its different but some parts make sense so if you keep reading to can piece the whole story together.
Week 1
I think a good leader has a positive attitude is leading others. Some qualities of a good leader consist of being respectful to others, listening to each idea. Being trustworthy and honest are also great qualities to have. Martin Luther King Jr. is a great leader to follow by. He was an excellent speaker and he truly believed in what he said, he is a perfect example. He was a good role model, he had a dream for this country and he made sure it would happen.
